Welcome to ‘Voiceless Echo’, my place to explore and record family and social history through my ancestors. My methods are beginner, but I am keen to learn, and enthusiastic about recording the history and stories I discover.

My mother was, and is, a passionate genealogist – much of her research was done in times pre-internet poring over Microfiche. Over many years she has collected and collated a large tree of information. I am fortunate to have this as my building block.

I look forward to sharing knowledge and welcome any information on potential connections past and present. To help this process, I have listed just a few of the names and places discovered in my ancestral tree so far:

Appoo – Sri Lanka (Ceylon), New Zealand, Victoria Australia, and England

Handley (Henley/Hanley) – Bedfordshire and East London, Middlesex England

Woodford – Oxford, England and Taylorville, New Zealand

Horn – Arnsgask Scotland, and Oxford, New Zealand

Wilson – New Zealand

Keats – England and New Zealand

Atkins – England and Kaitaia, New Zealand

Stockford and Nightingale – England

Kind regards

Melanie
