This precious ancestral gift; a brooch of bereavement. Curlicues of gold encircling plaited hair.

E.W.
Obt 14/May/1877.

But who?

Investigation reveals Elizabeth Ward, died aged 54 years in Lincolnshire. Wife of John, mother of four, and my great-great-grandmother.

Mourning Brooch containing a lock of plaited hair.
